BROADBAND LIGHT (BBL) & ForeverYoung BBL

Treat Redness and turn back time

We all experience it, no matter how much we try to protect our skin. Sun damage is one of the main contributors to the aging process that leads to thinner skin with brown spots and irregularities, as well as more visible small veins and generalized redness. Wouldn’t it be great if we could fight back against time and the sun and look Forever Young?

The Sciton BBL™ laser is one of the best solutions for patients looking to reverse the signs of aging and restore their youthful appearance. BBL treatments can be performed on any area of skin demonstrating signs of aging, including the face, neck, chest, shoulders and even the backs of the hands. Also, BBL has virtually no downtime, which is perfect for patients with busy schedules. BBL treatments help your skin look clearer, smoother, and overall revitalized!

Corrective BBL vs Forever Young BBL

Corrective BBL and Forever Young BBL are BroadBand Light therapies by Sciton, and both provide photorejuvenation benefits by using light to target different pigments and skin irregularities. At Siragusa Vein and Laser, we utilize both options to maximize our patients' results.

Corrective BBL uses a high amount of energy with one pass over the entire face. This more intense approach is an ideal way to clear the skin of dark spots, or blemishes that so many of us are looking to get rid of. We usually recommend patients begin with the corrective BBL treatment to jumpstart the anti-aging process.

Utilizing less energy and a higher number of passes, Forever Young BBL treatments are the perfect complement to corrective BBL to build upon and maintain the results that our patients love. Once corrective BBL has been used to return our patients skin to the youthful look they desire, we recommend using Forever Young BBL treatments to maintain their results.

Forever Young BBL is not only an amazing corrective option for patients' skincare goals, but also a great preventative solution. Studies have demonstrated that patients in their 30s and 40s who receive two to four Forever Young BBL treatments annually, can maintain healthy clear skin well into their 60s and 70s by continuing to regenerate healthy skin at the cellular level.

How does the BBL Laser Work?

BBL uses short blasts of high intensity light to deliver excellent cosmetic results. The light energy is delivered to the treated area gently warming up the upper layers of the skin stimulating new skin cells growth and the production of new collagen. In addition to new skin cell growth, the energy delivered through the cooled sapphire crystal eliminates fine vessels that cause redness as well as removing unwanted melanin that causes brown spots

What to expect?

Prior to starting your treatment, we will apply protective shields to your eyes and a thin layer of clear gel to your face. The technician will then pass the BBL device over the targeted areas. You may feel a brief warm sensation as the areas absorb the light. Depending on the scope of your treatment, the process will take anywhere from ten to thirty minutes.

Recovery & Results

Immediately after your BBL, you may experience some redness and your skin may feel as if you have a slight sunburn. The redness should resolve within a few hours. Depending on how aggressive your treatment is and how you respond, you may also see minimal swelling. Do not be alarmed, this is normal and won’t hang around for too long. Over the next few days, you may see brown spots begin to develop a darker color and then begin to flake and fall off. This is good news, these changes indicate your skin is getting rid of the pigment and your treatment is workin

Frequently Asked Questions -

How many treatments will i need ?

The number of treatments needed varies from patient to patient depending on their current skin conditions and cosmetic goals. Most patients see optimal results from 2-3 treatments with a yearl/bi-yearly maintenance treatment providing dramatic results for patients as they age.

Will the BBL treatment hurt?

The BBL treatment is often described as a slight stinging sensation. Most patients find the treatment very tolerable and do not use a topical numbing cream. For some sensitive areas we do provide the numbing cream if requested.

How long will I take to recover?

After treatment, your face will appear red and flushed which should fade within a few hours. Darker areas/dark spots may temporarily become darker and then begin to flake as the pigmentation rises to the surface of the skin and then begins to flake off. Direct sunlight should be avoided for 1-2 weeks following treatment.
